A Guide to Beginning Bee Venom Therapy
The Ancient Practice of Bee Venom Therapy
Bee Venom Therapy (BVT) is a powerful healing modality with roots stretching back thousands of years. This ancient practice, also known as apitherapy, harnesses the therapeutic properties of bee venom, a complex substance containing a diverse array of enzymes, peptides, and amino acids. Historically, cultures across the globe, from ancient Egypt and Greece to traditional Chinese medicine, have utilized bee stings for their purported medicinal benefits, recognizing their ability to alleviate pain, reduce inflammation, and stimulate the body's natural healing processes.
Today, BVT continues to be explored for a variety of health conditions. Modern applications focus on Multiple Sclerosis, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Alzheimer’s, and a variety of cancers. BVT’s anti-inflammatory and immunomodulatory effects play a beneficial role in beating hard to beat illnesses.
When it comes to lyme and BVT, the success stories are incredible. I have had the opportunity to hear from individuals who went from bed ridden to running marathons, dropping out of school due to losing their ability to read and write to running succesful businesses, women who were once so sick who go on to have healthy babies and grow families, and so on and so forth.
When I decided I was ready to try Bee Venom Therapy, I was at rock bottom. Every day I woke up with debilitating headaches, neck and jaw pain. Showers left me covered in rashes and often mild hives. I was extremely nauseous and had growing food intolerances. My body felt incredibly heavy and I was so fatigued. My brain didn’t work like it used to. My periods wrecked me, the pain at times was so debilitating I would end up in the ER. After calling in sick to work over and over again, I finally quit my job. I’d go from doctor to doctor seeking help and was getting no where. Naturopaths gave me supplements, herbals, tinctures and more that would helped some, but just as often leave me feeling worse. The western doctors came up with nothing helpful; giving my catch all diagnoses like “fibromyalgia” and offerering birth control and antidepressants as a so called treatment. I wasn’t depressed, I was just too tired and in too much pain to live my life.
At that point I came across a few successful BVT stories on Instagram, so I went and joined all the Facebook groups and dove down the rabbit hole. This was a mistake. The message I heard over and over was: you’ll get worse before you get better. I vividly remember laying in my yard sobbing, not knowing how I could get worse than I already was. There were so many people still hurting, still struggling, and grasping to find their way through the protocol.
The truth is, too much herxing is not a good thing. I later found out that the best way to do BVT is by properly prepping your body and following a protocol so that you don’t decrease your functionality. Being the thrifty gal that I am, I originally planned on doing BVT on my own and relying on others on the journey in these Facebook groups to help me troubleshoot. However, I realized how important it is to take advice from people who have fully healed. Now I can say that I absolutely do not recommend undergoing this journey without professional help. BVT done before you are ready can be dangerous. It is extremely important to address certain issues before beginning BVT and I never could have done that without proper guidance. Working with someone also opened the door for me to build a community within the lyme world. Being sick with lyme can often feel isolating and scary; having others that understand what you are going through is the biggest blessing.
To help get you going on your journey, I’m striving to make it as easy as possible for you to find the right mentor/program to guide you. I’ve put together a list of BVT resources I personally know of, as you’ll find below. I really want to empower you to look through the options that I have pulled together and to go with what feels like the best fit for you. Many of the mentors below will offer you an exclusive freebie or discount when you sign up and mention you were referred through me.
